It is our hope the website will encourage our staff and trainees to utilize it as a base for e-learning, content delivery and research.
Kinangop Technical and Vocational College is a TVET institution in Kenya charged with the mandate of training middle level technical and vocational labour force. Like all other TVET institutions, it is a key enabler to the government in attaining Education for all (EFA), a global commitment geared towards ensuring that all children and youth have access to quality education.
The college was inaugurated by His Excellency Hon. Dr. William Samoei Ruto – then Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya on 13th October 2018.The first batch of 58 trainees were admitted in January 2019. Since then, we have grown our population to more than 400 trainees.
We offer training in various disciplines in both Business and Technical fields. We are a centre of Excellence in Mechanical Engineering.
To fulfil our mandate of offering quality all rounded training, we have developed our first Strategic Plan for 2023-2028 in line with the relevant national objectives contained in the National Development Agenda and the Kenya Vision 2030. The Strategic Plan will, among other things, enable the college to improve its services through teamwork, effective leadership and coordinated efforts, in order to achieve a comparative advantage within an increasingly competitive educational sector globally. It will also help in enhancing target setting, resource allocation, and provide the basis for overcoming challenges facing the college. The strategic plan draws on best practices from the past but in a way that is far more coordinated, while allowing opportunities for new thinking.
The college believes in producing all round graduates. We have therefore undevoured to provide avenues for the trainees to participate in activities that promote growth in all spheres of life. This includes involvement of trainees in TVET Fair and robotics, sports and games, drama and film festivals and as well as Corporate Social Responsibility activities in the community.
We recognize the crucial role played by partnerships and collaborations in implementing the TVET programs and are looking forward to entering into partnering with national and international partners in the industry and academia.
In conclusion, I wish to re-affirm our commitment to fulfilling our noble duty to Kenya as a training institution to produce quality manpower for the various sectors of our economy. To achieve this ambitious goal, we need the support of all the stake holders. We are open to receiving suggestions and complaints to enable us have continuous improvement.
May God bless Kinangop TVC
